How did we get here?

It all began way back in the darkest days of lockdown, I had always wanted to write a novel but on every occasion, found a viable excuse not to, well that is until we all found ourselves under house arrest in March 2020! During that time, to while away the hours, I read hundreds of books on my Kindle, and in January 2021, I took a leap of faith and started my first-ever book, (which is being revised and polished as we speak!) and May 2021 I wrote the words 'to be continued!', after which I scoured the web for advice on getting published. Long story short, I sent the manuscript to a vanity publisher, who very kindly relieved my bank account of £800, and voila! My first-ever book was available to buy on Amazon! Then came another problem, during the publication of Carrie's Legacy, I was halfway through the sequel Wild Mountain Thyme, and my bank balance was not willing to part with another £800, so I began to research self-publishing. It was a huge learning curve, to say the least, and I cannot tell you how many times I had neared the point of publishing the book, I had to start from scratch! I find myself incredibly lucky that my talented husband was able to design my book cover for me, which again was a huge learning curve. So that leads me to where we are now, twelve books published, and Under the Oaks is created!
