Good Grief...

Following on from our last blog, I wanted to share my experience of grief…

I think each and every one of us has been touched by grief in one way or another, it affects us all in different ways, and can completely change the sufferer, I know, because it happened to me!

For many years, I found myself completely consumed by it, never a day passed by when the dark shadow of sorrow swept over me until…

I stepped onto my spiritual path and after a while, I was and am now thankfully, regularly, reunited with those who I missed so very much. I was guided to understand that the body is simply a vessel, that the soul very much lives on, watching over us, entering our dream state, simply to offer much needed reassurance that they are still absolutely and completely apparent…

Which leads me to Dia De Los Muertos… Day of the Dead, widely celebrated in Mexico. Reaching back over millennia, indigenous cultures viewed death as a continuation of life, where, rather than mourn and lament, they celebrate the lives of those who have crossed the realms, with bright colours, music, and feasts.

Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration of memory, community and connection, celebrating that those who have crossed the realms remain spiritually present and return to reunite with loved ones.

It symbolizes continuity between life and death and represents joyful remembrance rather than fear.

Which, personally I find it to be an amazing way of coping with such raw emotions and sense of loss. When we understand that they are still very much in our energy field, that sense of loss, slowly disappears.

When you think of those who are no longer physical, imagine how they must feel when they watch hopelessly from the side lines, to see how distraught and consumed we become, lost in our grief, and for many there is little they can do, if we are closed in and not open to signs and synchronicities that they send us for reassurance.

So, I for one embrace the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos, time heals, but opening your mind to the universe can make the process so much kinder.

Thank you for taking the time to share this with me,

Until the next time, Brightest Blessings,

Louise X
